Madhava Syamlal, Ph.D.

Founder & CEO

Dr. Madhava Syamlal is the Founder and CEO of QubitSolve. He holds a B.Tech in chemical engineering from IIT (BHU) and an MS and Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. He retired from the US DOE's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) as Senior Fellow for Computational Sciences and Engineering, where he made numerous contributions to the theory and numerical techniques of multiphase computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and led development of the open-source CFD software MFIX, used worldwide by industry and academia. He also led development of a co-simulator integrating the commercial process simulator Aspen Plus® with the CFD software FLUENT®, served as founding Technical Director of the Carbon Capture Simulation Initiative (a $48 million DOE project), and was principal investigator of the $13 million MFIX-Exa project under DOE's Exascale Computing Project. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and has received numerous awards, including three R&D 100 Awards, the DOE Secretary's Achievement Honor Award, the Illinois Tech Alumni Professional Achievement Award, and AIChE's 2020 Elsevier PTF Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Sankaran Sundaresan, Ph.D.

Principal Scientist

Dr. Sankaran Sundaresan is Principal Scientist at QubitSolve and the Norman John Sollenberger Professor in Engineering, Emeritus, at Princeton University, where he was also a professor of chemical and biological engineering. He received a B.Tech. in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (Chennai, India) in 1976 and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Houston in 1980, joining the Princeton faculty later that year. His research centered on the theory and computational fluid dynamics algorithms for multiphase flow problems arising in the chemical, energy conversion, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as chemical reaction engineering. He was recognized by Princeton University with the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching and an award for Excellence in Graduate Mentoring, and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), where he received the Richard H. Wilhelm Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering, the Thomas Baron Award in Fluid-Particle Flow, and the Elsevier Lifetime Achievement Award in Particle Technology. He also holds appointments as Permanent Guest Professor at the Hamburg University of Technology in Germany and Distinguished Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Carter Copen

Software Engineer

Carter Copen is a Software Engineer at QubitSolve. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from West Virginia University, where he was a WVU Honors Foundation Scholar. Carter began contributing to QubitSolve's software as a part-time engineer during the company's NSF SBIR Phase I project, and now works on building and refining the software behind the QubitFlux™ platform. He is enthusiastic about applying his academic training to real engineering problems and about collaborating with industry professionals to build innovative software solutions.

Prakash Saini

Software Engineer

Prakash Saini is a Software Engineer at QubitSolve. He holds a Master of Science in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surat. Prakash brings full-stack engineering experience in Go, Python, and React, built through prior roles delivering scalable backend systems and cloud infrastructure at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and elsewhere. At QubitSolve, he applies that experience to the software workflows and cloud infrastructure behind the QubitFlux™ platform and its workshop exercises.
